Pauline Johnson
Anna Pauline Johnson, 91, of Symsonia, died at 5:00 PM, Thursday, December 8, 2016,
at Baptist Health, Paducah. 

Mrs. Johnson was born and raised in Paducah. She was a 65-year member of the
Symsonia United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served on the
board. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Symsonia Chapter of the Kentucky Order of
the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron. She was a past president of the
Symsonia PTA and a Kentucky Colonel. She was a founding member of the Symsonia Area
Civic Club, and hosted the Symsonia community Christmas tree lightning for 23 years.
Mrs. Johnson served as Grand Marshal for the 2016 Symsonia Day. 

She worked as a sales associate for Weille's and Jean's department stores, and later
in life provided daycare for dozens of children in her home who fondly called her
Miss Pauline. 

Her parents were James Corey Elder and Mary Carrico Elder. She is survived by three
sons, Gary (Susie) Johnson of Plano, Texas, Rickie A. Johnson of Symsonia, and
Jimmie Don Johnson of Reidland; four grandchildren, Susannah (Chris) Martin of
Coupland, Texas, Bethany (Kyle) Lyles Reeder of Mayfield, Candace (Andrew) Johnson
Smith of Lexington, Kentucky, and Quentin W. Johnson of New Haven, Connecticut; five
great-grandchildren, Phoenix and Griffin Martin, Bella, Kyla, and Lydia Reeder. She
was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ulus Johnson, a brother, Jewel
Elder, a sister, Patsy Meyer, a daughter, Paulette Johnson 
Lyles, a daughter-in-law, Joyce Susie Johnson, and two grandchildren, Brandon Reid
Lyles and Garrett Lee Johnson.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Collier
Funeral Home in Benton. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 11,
2016 with the Rev. Mark Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Clarks River
Cemetery. 

Pallbearers are Bub Johnson, Frankie Johnson, Phillip Thweatt, Robert Johnson, Mike
Lyles, Randy Johnson, and Delmer Smith.
