The Lady Marshals led early behind six points from Hannah Langhi while putting Owens in foul trouble with two, forcing her to head to the bench for much of the first half. Henderson led 17-15 at the end of the first quarter but Marshall County would take a five point lead at halftime, out-scoring the Lady Colonels 15-8 in the second quarter on 14 points between Langhi and Miyah Davis and a final basket before the buzzer by Tera Colson.

With the presence of Owens back on the floor in the second half who scored 14 of Henderson County’s 16 third quarter points, the lead went back to the Lady Colonels 41-39 going into the fourth quarter. Henderson’s Emilee Hope opened the fourth quarter with her fourth 3-pointer of the game, answered with a three by Davis.

Owens drew nine fouls in the game, sending Langhi to the bench with five in the fourth quarter after putting up 24 points for the Lady Marshals. Owens committed her fifth foul and the Lady Marshals would go on to cut the lead to 58-55 with 1:04 remaining in the game, but forced to foul in the closing minute gave the Lady Colonels several trips to the free throw line where they stretched their lead out to 11 at the final buzzer.
