Local Eagle Scout donates to Marshall County Health Dept.

donation

Recently Conor Washburn, with Eagle Scout Troop 2484, of Benton, completed a book library project and donated one to the Marshall County Surgical & Medical Group and another to the Marshall County Health Department.  The portable “book library” stands in the lobby of the Haltom Medical Office building to provide reading material to the community.  A sign indicates that you may take a book or leave a book for others to read.

To become an Eagle Scout, a person is required to complete a project that will benefit the community.  The participant has to lead a team to accomplish their task.  Conor led his team of three, which consisted of himself, his dad and grandfather, to construct the portable structure. The other troop members had other duties related to the project such as raising funds.

Greeting Conor in the lobby of the medical office building was Marica White, Public Relations Director and  Mark Leneave, Director of Practice Management and also, himself, an Eagle Scout.
