Paducah & Louisville railway, Inc. has had a derailment of eight (8) chemical cars on its track in Calvert City Industrial Complex. Four (4) cars are empty and four (4) are loaded with product that were destined for various plants in Calvert City. THERE ARE NO LEAKS OR RELEASES OF ANY OF THE CONTENTS OF THE CARS and there were no injuries. Currently the situation is stable and personnel from P&L, plant representatives and recovery team contractors are on scene to upright the cars and safely clear the derailment scene. Personnel from Kentucky Emergency Management and Environmental Protection are on scene and monitoring the situation as well. The City is working with P&L, KyEM, Environmental Protection, and the National Weather Service to monitor and stay current on the situation. The City will keep the public notified as more information is available or there is any change in the situation. Track repairs are currently ongoing and recovery of the cars is not scheduled to begin until repairs are completed.
