Mrs. Janette Powell, age 65 of Benton, KY passed away Thursday, October 21, 2016, at her home. Born Friday, August 31, 1951 in Murray, KY, she was the co-owner of the H&R. Block Franchise located in Murray and in Mayfield, KY. She was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband of 46 years, Terry Powell of Benton, KY; two sons, Tommy Powell of Benton, KY and Jamey Powell of Benton, KY; one daughter, Tammy Willie of Benton, KY; one brother, Billy Nelson of Benton, KY; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her parents the late Marvin and Emma Lou (Seaford) Nelson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday October 25, 2016 in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Hall, Rev. Mike Littrell and Rev. Rodney Wallace officiating. Burial will follow the service in New Zion Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Monday October 24 2016 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th Street, Benton, KY.
