(Mayfield, Ky.) Oct. 14, 2016 - West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative will celebrate National Cooperative Month with a Member Appreciation Day at its Benton office on Tuesday, October 18. Free hamburgers and hotdogs will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking area outside the office, located at 1767 Mayfield Hwy in Benton. There will be door prizes and giveaways and all Co-op members are encouraged to stop by. National Cooperative Month recognizes the many ways cooperatives help to build stronger communities and a stronger economy. West Kentucky Rural Electric serves 31,000 members in a four-county service area and is one of 24 non-profit, customer-owned electric distribution cooperatives in Kentucky providing power to more than 1.5 million rural members.
