Aaron Clayton has been named public address announcer for Murray State Athletics.
Brock Rydecki, Director of Facility & Game Management made the announcement.
“We’re pleased to welcome Aaron to the Racer Athletics family and look forward to working with him at our events,” Rydecki said. “Aaron’s radio background and love for the Racers has prepared him to provide an exciting environment on game day. I think our fans are going to enjoy his style of public address in the coming years.”
Clayton’s duties begin on the final home football game of the season (Nov. 12) when the Racers host Jacksonville State. In the coming Racers’ basketball season, Clayton will be on the mic at the CFSB Center for all Murray State men’s and women’s games.
“I am very honored to be part of the athletics organization here at Murray State,” he said. “I’ve always had a dream to be part of the Racer Athletics and I was never graced with athleticism, but I’ve always followed the Racers very closely. So to now be a part of the team is a big honor for me.”
Clayton is a 2011 Murray State graduate with a degree in journalism and political science
When he’s not handling the PA duties for the Racers, Clayton is a veteran announcer on local radio with Freeland Broadcasting since 2007 and is heard often on WCBL 99.1 FM in Benton, Kentucky.
