Mr. James Patrick Edwards, age 51 of Oceanside, CA passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at his home. Born Saturday, November 7, 1964 in Highland Park, Michigan, he was a graduate of Livingston County High School in Smithland, KY. He had a fantastic memory for numbers and date, and had a unique ability to learn foreign languages with ease. He taught himself guitar, and progressed to other string instruments. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Surviving are his wife, Jerry May (Montebon) Edwards of Oceanside, CA, his father and step-mother, Jim and Julie (Schmiedlin) Edwards of Manchester, MI, sister, Jami Ashcraft, husband Jordan of WA, Edgar and Mary Beton of Oceanside, CA, Glen and Marites Boreman of Oceanside, CA, aunts, Jenne and Helen, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends in Kentucky, Michigan, California and the Phillipines. His smile will be missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene E. (Burgess) Magyar, brother, Tommie M. Edwards, grandparents, Ollie J. and Sue (Holley) Edwards, grandmother, Lillian E. (Lasanen) Burgess, uncle Paul W. Burgess. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairdealing Cemetery, Fairdealing, KY. Interment with military honors will follow the service. Visitation will be held after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home. Collier Funeral Home, Inc, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025 has been entrusted with the services.
