Billy Wayne Griggs, age 56 of Calvert City, KY died on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Baptist Health, Paducah, KY. He worked for West KY Navigation where he was employed as 1st Mate. He also owned and operated his own auto repair shop.
Born Saturday, March 26, 1960, he was the son of the late Archie Clifton Griggs and the late Dorthy Jean (Rose) Griggs.
Surviving are daughter, Angel Mathis of Clinton, KY, brothers, Clifton Edward Griggs of Calvert City, KY, Joe Gene Griggs of Camden, TN, James Robert Griggs of Benton, KY and John L. Griggs of Benton, KY, sister, Jane Walsh of Paducah, KY; and 3 grandchildren, Jason Hayden, Kadynse Hayden, and Rhaea Mathis all of Clinton, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Archie Thomas “Tommy” Griggs.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Rev. Corey Holt officiating.
Interment will follow in the Salyers Cemetery.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home.
