
DRAFFENVILLE – Murray’s Parker Greer scored all three of the Lady Tigers goals in their 3-2 win over the Lady Marshals Tuesday at Colburn Stadium, their second district win over Marshall County. The Lady Tigers lead the 2nd District with a 6-0 record and are 10-1 on the season, their only loss coming to West Jessimine in the second game of the season.
Greer scored her first two goals in the first 10 minutes of the game with no more scoring coming from either team the rest of the first half. Seconds into the second half, Bailie Wood put the Lady Marshals on the board, cutting the Murray lead 2-1.
Greer made it a 3-1 Murray lead in the second half with a chance for the Lady Marshals to cut their lead again on a penalty kick by Kayla Travis with three minutes left that was denied by Murray’s Olivia Butterworth. Allie Chancellor made it a 3-2 game, scoring for the Lady Marshals with two minutes to go.
Marshall County took 4 shots in the game, 3 on goal and 1 corner kick. Murray had 10 shots, all 10 on goal with 4 corners. Keeper Allie Fiske had another good game, with saves on 7 of the Lady Tigers shots on goal.
The Lady Marshals will host the KY vs IN Interstate Rivalry this Saturday with these five games scheduled.
