McDonald’s franchisee, local health department’s find ‘worms’ claim unsubstantiated

After two individuals claimed they found live worms in their hamburgers at McDonald’s restaurants in Draffenville and Mayfield, the franchisee operator has fired back.

Michael Love, who is the owner and operator of both restaurants, said his staff and the Marshall County and Graves County Health Department found no evidence of any worms or insects inside any of the food that is prepared in either store.

Madison Stephens and her one-year-old son claimed they found a live worm in a burger at the Mayfield restaurant, while Lacey Jo Lovett had the same issue at the Draffenville location.

Both contacted the corporate McDonald’s office and were compensated with gift cards.
