Marshall County Sheriff’s Report August 19th, 2016

On Thursday August 18th Deputy Steven Oakley was dispatched to College St in reference to two subjects being passed out in the bathroom. Upon arrival Deputy Oakley located both subjects in the bathroom.  The female subject stated that they both had been smoking spice. The female subject attempted to hide their smoking device and dropped it on the floor and was concealing more in her clothing. Kevin A. Jackson 24, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Possession of Synthetic Drugs- 2nd Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Tori J. Gay 22, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Possession of Synthetic Drugs 2nd Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

 

On Thursday August 18th Deputy Chris Greenfield observed a subject off in a ditch on Jackson School Road and the trailer was blocking the northbound lane. Deputy Greenfield noticed the male subject laying back in the front seat with his feet out the window. The subject was given the field sobriety test in which there were many indicators present for being under the influence. The subject advised Deputy Greenfield that he had been drinking and there were several empty beer cans and bottles located in the vehicle. There was also a prescription bottle that was located that contained Oxycodone APAP that was filed on 7/31 that was empty and a single pill of Alprazolam. Christopher Lane 37, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence and Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree.
