DRAFFENVILLE – Hosting Fort Campbell on Friday for their first of two pre-season scrimmages, the Marshals won 14-6 and Head Coach Evan Merrick was happy to finally have the chance to see where his team is, going into the season after five weeks of practice.
“A competition against another team is what we needed”, Merrick said. “I thought our kids showed good effort and enthusiasm and we’ll continue to get better at channeling those emotions as the season progresses. We need to find some balance in some areas and by getting it on film we can make adjustments going into next Thursday’s scrimmage at Union County. Our kids are eager to improve and I look forward to the days and weeks ahead of us.”
Following next weeks scrimmage at Union County, the Marshals will open their season at Mayfield on August 26th.
