PADUCAH – The Marshals traveled to Paxton Park Golf Course (par 71) in Paducah to participate in the Paducah Tilghman Invitational tournament Saturday.
The Marshals finished in a tie for 2nd place with Mayfield with a team score of 301. McCracken Co won the tournament with a team score of 293 in the field of 11 teams.
Marshall’s Quinn Eaton took medalist honors with a 4-under 67. Chase Korte of McCracken County was second with a 3-under 68.
Marshals individual scoring was Eaton with 67, Garrett Howell 77, Grant Hackney 78, Jay Nimmo 79 and Tyler Powell 87.
“I am really proud of our player’s efforts today”, Coach Keith Bell said. “Our team score of 301 is our best of the season so far and I hope this gives our players the confidence to go out and achieve a score under 300. Quinn played really well for us today plus we had three other scores in the 70’s.”
“The tournament today had the feel of the upcoming Regional tournament. McCracken and Mayfield played well today. It’s looking like a three team race for the two spots that will qualify for the state tournament from Region 1, but don’t rule out Calloway County or Graves County. We want to be one of those two teams that qualify for the state tournament.”

Monday, the team will play a match at Calvert City Country Club against Mayfield and Paducah Tilghman. Tuesday they will be back at Paxton Park to play Tilghman and on Saturday will play in the Ballard Memorial Tournament at Ballard County Country Club.
