The Marshals traveled to central Kentucky on Saturday to participate in the Warren East Invitational tournament.  Held at Shady Hollow Golf Course (par 71) in Cub Run, KY, the field featured several top teams in the state on a beautiful golf course where accuracy was far more important the distance.

The Marshals finished with a team score (lowest four scores) of 302 which earned them 3rd place out of 21 teams.  The team was led by Jay Nimmo who shot 71, followed by Quinn Eaton (73), Tyler Powell (78), Grant Hackney (80) and Garrett Howell (86).

McCracken County won the tournament with a team score of 291, South Warren followed in 2nd place.

Jay Nimmo’s round of 71 placed him in a 4th place tie with two other players.  A playoff on hole #18 ended quickly as Nimmo birdied the hole and his competitors both had par.

“Overall, a great start to the Marshall County boy’s golf season”, Coach Keith Bell said.  “The experience of playing on some of the best courses in the state and against great competition should pay dividends later in the season.  Really proud of the team’s performance and look forward to the continued improvement the players will make.”
