Demolition of the Old Eggners Ferry Bridge continues, although at a somewhat slower pace that the explosive demolition last week.
Wednesday and today, the contractor used cranes to remove Span A (the short span on the west end of the old bridge) and Span F (the short span on the east end of the old bridge).
The Tentative plan going forward is to jackhammer or break Piers 3 and 4 to water level sometime over the next week. That work has not started, but is expected in the next few days. The tentative plan is to drill and blast these piers below water level sometime between August 8th and 26th with drilling and blasting possible sometime between August 15th and September 2nd as weather permits.
Removal of the approach spans would continue until around November 1st as weather permits.
