When Ken Barr Inn Owner Joe Dooley found out that the Marshall County
Rescue Squad had lost it’s funding, he volunteered his facility to host a
benefit with proceeds going to the Rescue Squad.

Mike Smith owner of Mike Smith Toyota and Kia immediately offered a
substantial donation to sponsor the event and Fish Fry and Rock-n-Roll was
born. Moors Marina, J’s Steakhouse, Marshall County Golf Cart, Patti’s
Settlement are just a few that offered to help with donations and gift
certificates. It is amazing how the community is coming together to help.

The Marshall County Rescue Squad provides important services to the county
and citizens. Search and Rescue, Watercraft Rescues, Traffic Control and
Swift Water Rescues are just some of many services that are provided. If
you look out the window and it is too nasty to go out, the Rescue Squad is
probably out there serving the county in some way.

All County Emergency Services have had budget cuts but because the MCRS are
an all volunteer organization, mostly funded by donations, Marshall County
has cut funding for the Rescue Squad completely. To raise funds the
Marshall County Rescue Squad on August 27th from 5 to 11pm at Ken Barr Inn
- Gilbertsville KY will host the fish fry to benefit the Marshall County
Rescue Squad. The band Mandy Vixen and Gas Station Chicken will provide the
music. Fish Fry and the fixings $15.00 at the door or tickets are available
at Mike Smith Toyota, Moors “Ralph's” restaurant and Embers at Ken Barr Inn.
