Marshall County Republican Women announce scholarship winners

The Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship recipients were recognized at the recent monthly meeting of the Marshall County Republican Women.

Madison Ford and Billie Moore were introduced to the membership and presented with their scholarship awards.

Total scholarships awarded this year amounted to $2,000.

Various fundraising activities, craft fairs, yard sales and silent auctions help the Republican Women finance the scholarship program.

Ford is the daughter of Dr. Ken and Mrs. Beverly Ford.

She plans to attend the University of Kentucky in the fall.

Moore is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Moore.

She plans to attend Murray State University in the fall.

Additionally, the Marshall County Republican Women will host an Ice Cream Social on July 23 at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville (large pavilion) from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, ice cream, brownies and drinks will be available to purchase.

Activities will include Senator Danny Carroll speaking at 12:30 PM, Sally’s Cloggers performing at 2:30 PM, and Silent Auction items available for bidding throughout the day.

Also, tickets for The Night Before Fancy Farm will be available for sale.

Proceeds from the Ice Cream Social will benefit the Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship Fund.
