‘Digger’ Wardlow

Digger
"Digger" Gregory Wardlow, age 60 of Gilbertsville, KY formerly of Elburn, IL, died
Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY. Born Wednesday, July
27, 1955 in Aurora, IL. Digger worked for same company his whole life. He was a
diesel mechanic for Ryder. Digger is survived by his wife Marcia (Ester) Wardlow of
Gilbertsville, KY; son, Steven Wardlow and his wife Becky of Sycamore, IL, daughter,
Angela Johnson and her husband Birney of Benton, KY; 4 grandchildren, Tristan,
Ethan, Nicole and Madison; 3 step-grandchildren, Christian, Anthony and Taylor; 1
brother and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents the late Clark and
Mary Jane (Sloat) Wardlow and 1 brother. Digger was a wonderful Husband, father and
grandfather. He truly enjoyed being with his family, at the race track and going for
golf cart rides with his wife every night. Digger held a special place in his heart
for his 2 children whom he called almost every night. He had a passion for animals,
including his 2 dogs, 1 house cat and a very special shop cat that only loved
Digger. Everyone else had to stay clear. A Celebration of Life service will be held
between the hours of 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Kenlake State
Resort Park BAYVIEW BUILDING; 542 Kenlake Rd, Hardin, KY 42048. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in Digger's memory can be sent to Calling All Angels, 157 US Hwy 68 E,
Draffenville, KY 42025.
Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY will be handling all arrangements.
