LOUISVILLE, KY – A new poll shows that western Kentuckians were less likely to report that a family member or friend had problems with abusing prescription pain relievers.
The new data coming from a poll conducted by the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky.
According to the poll, 16% of western Kentuckians reported that a family member or friend had experienced a problem as a result of abusing prescription pain relievers.
This is slightly lower than the average for the entire state, as 25% of Kentuckians reported that a family member or friend had experienced a problem as a result of abusing prescription pain relievers.
Western Kentuckians were also less likely to reporting family or friend members experiencing problems as a result of using heroin. Only 8% of western Kentuckians reported in the poll versus 13% for the state average.
The poll also asked about tobacco, health insurance, and overall health of its participants.
The poll was conducted last fall and 1,608 Kentucky adults took part. You can read the results below.
