FRANKFORT, KY – A new online form has been created to make nominations to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Gov. Matt Bevin’s office last month said he was reviewing what it takes to receive the honor. On Monday, Kentucky Colonels Executive Director Lynn Ashton said in a news release she appreciates Bevin taking time to review the application process.
The title is the highest honor bestowed by a Kentucky governor. The release said the organization’s primary objective is to support charities and worthy organizations.
The form provides a location to list a nominee’s service in a charitable group or acts of community service.
Bevin said there are Kentucky Colonels in all 50 states and 36 countries.
Only active members are allowed to make nominations. To nominate someone to the organization, visit https://secure.kentucky.gov/formservices/Governor/KentuckyColonelCommission .
