
DRAFFENVILLE – A 2-run stand up double by Payton Smothers and RBI single from Addie Young after Lexee Miller led off with a double and Abby Fiessinger reached on an error, gave the Lady Marshals a 3-0 lead after their first at bat in the first semi-final game of the Region 1 Tournament Tuesday.

The Lady Marshals scored their 4th run in the 2nd inning when Gracey Murt crossed home plate as Miller reached 1st on an error.
Kenslie Cross hit a single in the 7th and was brought home for their 5th run on a triple by Fiessinger and the final run of the game came on a ground out by Smothers for the 6-0 win and trip to the championship game on Wednesday against McCracken County.
Briley English, in 7 innings of work, struck out 4, allowed 4 hits and no runs.
McCracken County beat Carlisle County 11-2 to advance to the title game which will be played tonight at 6:00 at Marshall County. This will be the Lady Marshals first trip to the title game since the 2009 season when they beat Heath 2-1 in the championship game.
