A Benton man was hospitalized Friday after a crash on U.S. 68 in McCracken County. 69-year-old Charles Don Adams was eastbound when he swerved to miss a deer. His SUV left the road and went down a steep hillside, crashing through a fence hitting a fire hydrant before crashing into a tree head on. Adams was taken to the hospital for treatment of what investigators called incapacitating injuries.
