Marshall County High School senior Cameron Miller signed Thursday with the Freed-Hardeman University Track and Field Program.
Next spring will mark the first year for the Freed-Hardeman track program and Cameron’s signing makes him the first Marshall County athlete to sign with them.
Cameron has been a state competitor the past two years in throwing events and hopes to compete for a regional title this season in both the shot put and discus.
“Cameron is the type of athlete that works tirelessly to perfect his craft”, Head Coach Jared Rosa said. “Being a thrower comes with extreme self-motivation. He constantly has to perfect his technique and compete at high levels. Cameron has consistently placed in the top five throwers at every meet this year in both shot put and discus.”
Coach Rosa contributes wins at Murray and Henderson and strong finishes in Dyersburg and Invitational of the South to Cameron’s leadership.
“Cameron will excel in whatever he chooses to do, and any school would be lucky to have him”, Rosa said.
