A former Marshall County Middle School teacher accused of sexually abusing a student has learned that she will be staying in jail for a while longer.
Chelsea Rose appeared in a Marshall County Court Tuesday, and asked a judge to shorten her sentence to probation, according to the Marshall County Circuit Clerk’s Office. The judge denied the request to Rose, who is currently serving a three year sentence in neighboring McCracken County on sexual abuse charges related to the case.
Rose was sentenced to five years in Marshall County for taking three students and offering them alcohol.
