On Wednesday April 13th Court Security Officer Mike Wyatt was attempting to make contact with Penny L Baird 51, of Paducah, that had been notified she had an active warrant out of Marshall County. After multiple commands to stop Baird continued to proceed to her vehicle. Baird entered the vehicle starting the engine and as CSO Wyatt entered the vehicle Baird reached for the gear shift. As CSO Wyatt was in the vehicle with his foot on the brake Baird began to fight with him trying to get her keys. After being place under arrest by CSO Wyatt, Baird continued to resist arrest and not responding to commands causing the customers of the Judicial Building uneasiness. CSO Wyatt charged Baird with Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct 2nd along with serving the active warrant. Baird was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
