Marshall County Sheriff’s Report for April 4th – 10th

On Friday April 8th Deputy Cory Curtner and Deputy Steven Oakley were dispatched to Cherokee Ln in reference to a possible burglary. Upon arrival deputies located a female sitting inside a screened in porch of the residence. The investigation revealed through the property owners that the female subject did not have permission to be there. The female subject had began to unload boxes of her property into the residence and made statements that she was going to live there. Amberly D. Wallis 37, of Paducah, was taken into custody and charged with Burglary 2nd Degree.

 

On Sunday April 10th Deputy Josh Anderson was dispatched to the area of Bess Ln and Egners Ferry Rd in reference to a male subject laying in the roadway. Deputy Anderson found the subject standing on the side of the road highly intoxicated and stumbling. The subject stumbled into the roadway almost causing Deputy Luke Rudd to strike him. The subject stated that he had been laying in the road for several hours trying to get arrested or ran over. William C. Brown 37, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

 

On Sunday April 10th Deputy Josh Anderson observed a vehicle on Calvert City Dr swerve over the center line into the oncoming traffic lane. Deputy Anderson initiated he lights and the subject did not immediately stop. The subject continued until he reached his driveway on Retirement Circle. The subject stated that he knew he had drank to much to be driving and didn’t want to pay a tow bill. The subject stated that he had consumed 26 beers since noon that day. Samuel N. Hughes 23, of Calvert City, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence.

 

On Sunday April 10th Deputy William Strader was dispatched to a possible burglary in progress of a female subject trying to enter a camper at Fin and Feather lodge in Aurora. Upon arrival Deputy Strader found the female subject being detained by the owner of the camper and the female subject was not talking clearly and appeared to not be completely coherent. The female subject appeared to be manifestly under the influence of an unknown intoxicant. There was no evidence of damage to the camper from the burglary and the subject seemed to be extremely confused. Casey J. Noel 25, of Sharondale, KY, was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance.

 

Numbers were down for the week, although still quite busy. Marshall County 911 reports that Deputies responded to 266 calls for service this week. This includes 8 traffic crashes, four with injuries. This also includes 9 warrant and 23 civil process service attempts, 36 traffic stops, 10 extra patrols, 4 animal incidents, 10 burglaries / thefts, 10 disturbances / fights, 4 drunk driver complaints, 42 complaints by phone and in person, 6 motorist assists, and 6 follow up investigations.
