On Wednesday March 30th Deputy Jason Lane responded to Tatumsville Rd in reference to a collision.
Upon arrival Deputy Lane observed a subject walking to the driveway ditch where the vehicle was stuck. Deputy Lane asked the subject who was operating the vehicle and he stated that he was.
The subject stated that he was backing out of the driveway and got stuck. The subject later admitted to drinking and drug possession.
Upon search of the subject Deputy Lane revealed a small container with suspected marijuana in it.
There was plastic wrap with a yellow substance that the subject stated was Xanax with no prescription for it. The subject also passed out while Deputy Lane was tying out his citation.
David M. Horn 43, of Almo, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, Possessing License when Privileges Revoked, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Horn also had an active Bench Warrant.
Additionally, a traffic stop and foot chase Wednesday resulted in the arrest of a Marshall County man.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by 27-year-old Logan Hodge, of Benton. During the stop, Hodge fled on foot. Hodge was seen several hours later walking on Highway 641 near Palma Road. Hodge attempted to flee on foot again but was apprehended by police.
Hodge was taken to the Marshall County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, fleeing and evading police, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and prescription medication not in the proper container.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
