On Friday March 18th Deputy Nathan Maxlow went to Capp Springs Road in reference to a subject having 3 active warrants on a subject. Upon arrival Deputy Maxlow noticed a strong odor of marijuana near the side door of the residence. Deputy Maxlow made contact with a the male subject in the back bedroom of the residence. The subject admitted to smoking marijuana prior to Deputy Maxlow’s arrival and told where the marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located. Verbal permission was given to search the residence and upon further investigation Deputy Maxlow located sandwich bags, digital scales, cash, marijuana and other assorted drug paraphernalia. Joshua A. Neeble 35, of Benton, was arrested on his three active warrants and also charged with Trafficking Marijuana Less than 8 oz and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Neeble was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
On March 20th Deputy Josh Anderson responded to a convenience store in Draffenville due to a report that there was a man passed out behind the wheel of his car. The report was that when man stopped to enter US Hwy 68 and he appeared to have fallen asleep. Deputy Anderson located Sean Boss asleep at the wheel of his vehicle, with the vehicle running, in drive, with his foot on the brake. Anderson administered field sobriety tests and placed Boss under arrest for DUI. Boss was found to be in possession of numerous controlled substances in an unlabeled prescription bottle, a baggy of methamphetamine and a large sum of money. Boss was arrested and charged with DUI, trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, trafficking in a controlled substance 3rd degree and possession of controlled substance 1st degree (Methamphetamine). Sean Boss, age 42 of Benton was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
Numbers were slightly down this past week with Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies answering 291 calls for service. This includes 17 traffic crashes, 3 with injuries. Deputies also responded to 35 extra patrols, 5 alarm calls, 2 assaults, 6 burglaries / thefts, 3 drunk driver complaints, 7 follow up investigations, 10 disturbances / fights, and 32 traffic stops.
