Marshall County Sheriff’s Report for March 7th – 13th

On Saturday March 12th Sgt. Samantha Mighell went to Hilldale Ln to an apartment looking for a subject that currently had an active indictment warrant. The subject living there initially denied anyone else in the residence with her but later Shannon McClure 28, of Hardin, was later located inside the residence. McClure was taken into custody for his indictment warrant and it was also discovered that McClure also had an active domestic violence order with the subject he was staying with. McClure was then also charged with Violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO.

On Saturday March 12th Deputy Nathan Maxlow was sitting stationery on US 68 W near Scale Road when he observed a vehicle traveling east on US 68 W at a high rate of speed. Deputy Maxlow was able to hear the subject accelerate as he went by Deputy Maxlow to try to evade. Deputy Maxlow was able to catch up to the vehicle as he made a turn into a driveway. Upon contact with the driver, Deputy Maxlow noticed a strong odor of alcohol. The field sobriety test was given and there were many indicators present for someone under the influence. The subject was unable to locate his current insurance card and his address was different than what was on his operator’s license. Deputy Maxlow observed 4 opened beer cans in the vehicle. Scott Bowland 25, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Offense, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle, Speeding 26 MPH or > Speed Limit, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance and Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation.

A Calvert City man was arrested Friday as part of a theft investigation.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department went to a home on Rudd Lane and found 34-year-old William Reason in a bedroom, When Reason was questioned about the stolen items, he denied having them, but according to deputies the items were later found in the home.

During the investigation, Reason allegedly also threatened the victim. Deputies also learned he was wanted on an active arrest warrant from McCracken County.

Reason was arrested for receiving stolen property under $10,000, intimidating a witness, and for failing to notify the Department of Transportation of an address change. He was taken to Marshall County Detention Center.
