
DRAFFENVILLE – D.J. Pigg signed his letter-of-intent Thursday to play golf at John A. Logan College in Carterville, IL.
During his high school career at Marshall County, D.J.’s highlights in his senior season include a 1st place finish in the Webster County Invitational, 2nd place finish in the Paducah Tilghman Invitational, two top 10’s in the Ballard Invitational and Marshall County Invitational and a top 15 finish in the Christian County Invitational.

D.J. was a part of this year’s Regional Tournament runner-up team, tying for 16th and finished the KHSAA State Golf Tournament tied for 23rd.
This past August, D.J. won low amateur in a play-off in the West Kentucky Open at Drake Creek.
In his junior season, D.J. tied for 4th in the Region One Tournament, finished in the top 10 in the Marshall County Invitational and had two top 15 finishes in the Paducah Tilghman Invitational and Ballard Invitational.
D.J. will join a successful Men’s Golf Program at John A. Logan under Head Coach Tom Ferris. The Volunteers are two-time NJCAA National Champions (2009, 2011) finished 2nd in 2010 and 3rd in 2012 and have had the last 9 Individual Region 24 Tournament Medalists. They are the reigning Great Rivers Athletic Conference and Region 24 Tournament Champions.
D.J also leaves the Marshall County basketball program as the 16th newest member of the 1,000 Point Club, set a new school record for most career 3-pointers in the men or women’s programs and was named to this season’s 4th District and 1st Region All-Tournament teams.
D.J. said, “The relationship that my golf coach Todd Trimble has there and with Coach Ferris and the program are why I chose John A. Logan”.
He plans to pursue a degree in the areas of English and Physical Education.
