On Monday March 7th at 4:35 p.m. Deputy Dennis Lewis was dispatched to Scale Road in reference to a collision involving injuries. Andrew R. Lovett 22, of Benton, was traveling west on Scale Road at the time of the collision while Janice K. Elliott 63, of Benton, was traveling east. Lovett stated that he did not see Elliott coming and had crossed over the center line and when he observed the Elliott’s vehicle he was unable to avoid it. Lovett’s vehicle struck Elliott in the side causing Elliott’s vehicle to spin out of control. Elliott was transported by EMS to Marshall County Hospital to be treated for injuries.
