At the tender age of twelve a young boy, under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, was working in the field alongside his father. When he could not resist the gentle tugging of God’s Holy Spirit any longer, he and his father knelt right there on the ground, and Ray Smith asked the Lord to forgive him of his sins, and he committed his heart to Jesus. Ray was saved that day right there in that field. He held to the promises found in God’s Word, the faith he had in Jesus Christ and God’s promise to sustain him, to mold his character and life until the day he died.
