Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responds to multiple vehicle incidences

On Monday February 22nd at 10:47 a.m. Deputy Jason Ivey was dispatched to KY 95 in reference to an accident with injuries. Joseph Cirrito 81, of Calvert City, was traveling southbound on KY 95 when his vehicle left the left side of the roadway and struck a concrete driveway culvert. The vehicle continued into a ditch overturning and coming to rest back on its wheels. Cirrito was transported to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN by helicopter to be treated for his injuries.

 

On Monday February 22nd Sheriff Kevin Byars observed a vehicle sitting in the Regions Bank parking lot running and noticed smoke or steam coming from under the hood. Deputy Jeff Daniel came to assist Sheriff Byars and they observed a male subject slumped over the steering wheel. Deputy Daniel and Sheriff Byars were able to wake the subject and observed several empty beer cans along with several unopened. Upon exiting the vehicle the subject was disoriented and unsteady on his feet with a strong odor of alcohol on him. Alejandro Guerrero 44, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence.
