The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a wind advisory in effect Friday from 6am until 3pm.
The advisory includes all of western Kentucky, southern Illinois and southeast Missouri.
The strongest winds are expected during the morning and early afternoon hours, when south winds from 20 to 25 miles per hour will gust to 40 or 45 miles per hour.
Small tree limbs may be blown down. Unsecured outdoor objects such as garbage cans may be blown onto roads. High profile vehicles will be difficult to handle.
A wind advisory issured when sustained winds are expected to reach 30 mph or greater for longer than one hour, or wind gusts are expected to reach 45 mph for any duration.
