
DRAFFENVILLE – Over three minutes into the game, the Lady Tornados got on the board first on a basket by Whitney Shaw. Marshall’s Kat Howard tied the game 2-2, her first of six points in the quarter to give the Lady Marshals a 10-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Howard is seeing a lot of playing time with the absence of Hannah Langhi who is out with an injury, while Lady Marshals Paige Henson and Hannah English are back in uniform following their time off with injuries.
Tilghman scored the first seven points of the second quarter to lead 11-10, Henson tied it up with a free throw but free throws by Miriah Donelson put the Lady Tornados back on top by two. A free throw and field goal by Howard put the Lady Marshals up 14-13, a lead they held on to the remainder of the game, leading 24-19 at halftime.
Leading 30-21 in the third quarter, Tilghman’s Shaw and Briley English exchanged three’s and a free throw by Miyah Davis was followed by a basket from Lexee Miller for a 12 point lead.
Tilghman closed the lead to 36-29 followed by six straight free throw misses by the Lady Marshals that gave the Lady Tornados an opportunity to close out the third quarter down by just three at 36-33.
Briley English opened the fourth quarter with a three, her first of 14 points in the quarter, that began a 7-0 run for the Lady Marshals that stretched their lead out to 10, going on to win by 16.
English led the Lady Marshals with 24 points with 16 added by Howard as the Lady Marshals extend their season record to 18-4.
The Lady Marshals have a busy week coming up with three games starting on Monday at Livingston Central, Tuesday at home against McCracken County and Friday at Graves County.
