Larry Herman Coursey, 68 of Grand Rivers, KY died on Tuesday, December 21, 2015, at his residence in Grand Rivers, KY. Mr. Coursey was a retired foreman for TVA and a master carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 357 and a veteran of the US Air Force where he served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Calvert City, the VFW, and the American Legion.
Born Saturday, May 31, 1947 in Calvert City, KY, he was the son of the late Melvin Coursey and the late Katie (Smith) Coursey. Surviving are sons, Randall Coursey of Benton, KY, Jonathan Coursey of Calvert City, KY and Michael Coursey of Grand Rivers, KY, daughter, Robin Morris of Gilbertsville, KY, brothers, Donnie Coursey of Salem, KY and Gary Coursey of Calvert City, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Coursey.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Rev. Lynn McWherter and Rev. Donny Coursey officiating. Interment with Military Rites will follow in Calvert City Cemetery, Calvert City, KY. Visitation will be held between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Collier Funeral Home.
