Lady Marshals beat Moore in Monday’s Lady Marshal Holiday Classic game

BENTON – Reed Conder Gymnasium is home to the Lady Marshal Holiday Classic Monday through Wednesday.  The Lady Marshals took the floor in the third game on Monday following wins by Arlington, TN over Allen County-Scottsville and Muhlenberg County over Gleason, TN.

Marshall County defeated Louisville Moore 58-15 behind Hannah Langhi who led with 18 points and Briley English with 17. Miyah Davis put the Marshals on the board first followed by two straight threes by English for an 8-2 lead.

The Lady Marshals during that time, held Moore at half court defensively causing two 10 second calls on the Lady Mustangs. That was followed up by seven straight points from Langhi as the Lady Marshals went on to lead 27-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Holding Moore to just three points in the second quarter, the Lady Marshals scored 13 for a commanding 40-9 lead at halftime and the second half was all Marshall County, out-scoring Moore 18-6 in the win.

Tuesday’s games begin at 3:00 with Moore playing Allen County-Scottsville. At 4:30 Gleason, TN takes on Pleasure Ridge Park. The 6:00 game will feature the Lady Marshals playing Arlington, TN and the final game at 7:30 will be Muhlenberg County against Dyer County, TN.

Wednesday’s games begin at 10:30 am with the 7th place game followed by the 5th place game at 12:00, 3rd place game at 1:30 and championship game at 3:00.

The Lady Marshals kicked off their Christmas break Friday with a 49-39 win over Massac County. Leading 12-5 after the first quarter and 28-15 at halftime, the Lady Patriots went on a third quarter run to cut the Lady Marshals lead to seven points at the end of the third quarter but they held on to win by 10.

Langhi led the Lady Marshals with 15 points, English had 14 and Massac was led by Mackenzie Cowgill with 13.
