Marshall County is now a Work Ready Community. The Work Ready Community certification is a measure of a county’s workforce- an assurance to business and industry that our community is committed to supplying the highly skilled workforce that is required in today’s global economy. To help promote our Kentucky Work Ready Community certification we will be installing six signs from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet throughout the County and inside each City. The goal of the signs is to promote our County as a certified Work Ready Community and increase community awareness and support of the certification.
Wednesday, December 16 at 9:00am, following KY Lake Chamber of Commerce’s monthly breakfast Marshall County Judge/Executive, KY Lake Economic Development, and Marshall County School System alongside other elected officials and community members will unveil our Work Ready sign. The ceremony will take place at 68 Main Street, Benton Kentucky (adjacent to the “Welcome to Benton” sign).
The Work Ready Community certification requires commitment and dedication and Marshall County is committed to improving and maintaining the quality of our County’s workforce.
Kentucky Work Ready Community status lasts for two years, at which time each community must be re-certified to ensure they have not fallen below required criteria levels.
The re-certification process is a shorter process than the original application.
