Marshall County voters elect Republican candidate Kevin Neal as Judge/Executive, support Bevin for Governor

electionVoters went to the polls statewide Tuesday for the 2015 General Election. Statewide races on the ballot included Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Auditor, State Treasurer and Agriculture Commissioner. Various Judicial positions were also on the ballot.

On a local level, Marshall County voters elected Republican candidate Kevin Neal as their new Judge/Executive with unofficial votes of 6,916 for Neal over 4,383 for Democratic candidate Melonie Chambers.

Marshall along with Calloway voters elected  Jamie Jameson as Circuit Judge, 42nd District, to succeed Judge Dennis Foust following his retirement. Unofficial votes were recorded at 7,984 for Jameson, 5,614 for Jeff Edwards and 4,947 for Randall Hutchens.

For the statewide races, Marshall County supported Matt Bevin (R) for Governor, Stephen Knipper (R) for Secretary of State, Andy Beshear (D) for Attorney General, Mike Harmon (R) for Auditor, Allison Ball (R) for State Treasurer and Ryan Quarles (R) for Agriculture Commissioner.

Across the state, voter turnout was reported at 30.68%. Of the 24,980 registered voters in Marshall County, 11,364 ballots were cast for a turnout of 45.49%.
