BENTON – Playing Hopkinsville for the second time in four days, the Marshals were hoping for a better result then their 5-0 loss suffered in Hopkinsville on Sunday.

The Marshals weren’t shut out this time but Hopkinsville put up five more goals on them in the 5-1 win at Colburn Stadium Thursday and the Tigers have now out-scored their opponents 61-12 with a record of 11-2 at the top of the 2nd Region.
“What go us, we didn’t make tackles, we didn’t head the ball, we didn’t pass quickly”, Head Coach Andy Pagel said. “It doesn’t matter how we play, who we play, if we don’t fix those things we’re going to be in a lot of trouble.”
It was a good first half for the Marshals, keeping Hopkinsville out of the goal until 26:28 when Hopkinsville’s Caleb Joiner scored. The Marshals tied the game at 17:03 on a goal by freshman Austin Stockdale and with six minutes to go until halftime, Hopkinsville scored to go back up 2-1.
The second half was all Hopkinsville, controlling the game and putting three more goals in the net, two from Joiner for the hat-trick and the final goal from Zach Moore.
The Marshals (9-4) have a few days to rest up before they play Graves County at home next Thursday, ready to wipe out the memory of their 8-1 loss to the Eagles earlier this season.
