Humane Society of Marshall County partners with WoofTrax Shoes for Shelters to launch Shoe Collection Drive

wooftraxHumane Society of Marshall County is conducting a shoe collection drive running from September 10th through November 10th to raise funds for the animals. The Humane Society will earn funds based on the number of pairs collected as Funds2Orgs will purchase all of the donated shoes on behalf of WoofTrax Shoes for Shelters. Those dollars raised will benefit the animals housed at our facility until adopted or sent to rescue. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used or new shoes at our facility or various drop locations in the county.

Earlier this year, over $55,000 was raised by shelters nationwide as part of the WoofTrax Shoes for Shelters Spring Campaign. With your help, WoofTrax Shoes for Shelters Fall campaign will donate more funds to support the needs of our shelter and many others across the U.S.

Last December, WoofTrax donated over $65,000 to shelters nationwide as part of the WoofTrax Walk for a Dog app. Taking your Walk for a Dog is healthy for your dog, you and your local shelter or rescue. Now users of the WoofTrax Walk for a Dog app can support their local shelters and rescues, and help animals in need by donating the shoes worn while using the app-or ANY gently worn, used or new shoes.

All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of microenterprise partners in developing nations. Funds2Org helps impoverished people start, maintain and grow businesses in countries such as Haiti, Honduras and other developing nations in need. Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send her son to law school.

“We are excited about our shoe drive,” said Ashley Smith Director. “We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate to us and help those less fortunate become selfsufficient. It’s a win-win for everyone,” added Smith.
