On Thursday August 27th, Deputy Cory Curtner responded to the Hardin Dollar General Store in reference to a shoplifter. Upon arrival the management stated that the female subject was still in the store. Deputy Curtner made contact with the subject as she started to exit the store. Investigation revealed that the subject did have stolen merchandise concealed in her purse. The female subject attempted to flee the store on foot and Deputy Curtner detained the her outside of the store. Pracilla H. Preuett 27, of Mayfield, was arrested and charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking, Shoplifting under$500 and Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree.
For the week of August 24th through August 31st the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following: 14 Traffic Accidents, 6 Motorist Assists, 8 Burglary/Theft reports, 3 Disturbances, 14 Investigations, 7 Domestic Disturbances, 18 Warrants Served, 10 Civils Served, 17 Complaints, 31 Have a Deputy Call and 46 Traffic Stops contributing to a total call volume of 277 calls responded to.
