MURRAY – Jamie Jameson held his first official campaign rally in Murray this week. Jameson is a candidate for Circuit Court Judge on the November 3rd ballot in Calloway and Marshall counties. After the campaign rally, Jameson announced the names of his 20-member campaign committee consisting of residents of both Calloway and Marshall counties.
“I am humbled by the show of support from people of such character and prominence. I am very appreciative of their support,” said Jameson. “I came from a humble background and I know I’m not entitled to anything; including the position I’m running for. I’ve got to earn the job and these supporters see that I’m out doing just that and they want to help make sure we are successful.”
Jameson grew up on a small family farm in Marshall County and then opened his own retail business in Murray at age 18 which he operated for 10 years prior to graduating from Murray State University with honors and attending law school. In early 2012, Jameson was diagnosed with stage IV cancer. He is now three years into recovery from treatments and is on a mission.
“People tell me all the time that God’s not done with me yet. I felt compelled to run for Circuit Court Judge because it’s such an important position in our community. It is imperative that our next Circuit Court Judge is someone who knows that doing the job is a privilege,” said Jameson. “Elected officials shouldn’t run for office because they want a title or just a salary. The only reason to run for office is because you feel compelled to serve.”
