Harvey Story, Age 71 of Panama City, Fl. Formerly of Calvert City, Ky. Passed away May 4th 2015.
He was born and raised in Marshall County. Attended North Marshall High School. Received his Bachelor Degree in Nuclear Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Masters degree in health physics from Texas A&M. He worked at Florida power and light.
After leaving there he worked as a private consultant thus leading to be a consultant for several large companies. He was overseeing the decommissioning and decontamination of nuclear power plants. He retired from the profession of nuclear physics in June of 2009. While in Panama he attended Northstar Church where he hosted and was involved with the men’s bible study group.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 19 years Alta. 5 daughters, Angie and husband Octavio De La Grana of Miami, Fl. ,Ginny Story Ruiz of Miami beach, Fl. ,Gretchen and husband Andrew Fritsch of Delray Beach, Fl., Kristin Maya Story and James Curtis Owen of Portland, Oregon, Hannah and husband Mitch Kirkpatrick of Wichita, Ks., 2 step-daughters, Diane and husband Mike Boling of Gypsum, Co., Toni and husband Joe Haba of Kingston, Tn. 2 sisters, Mary and husband Walter Jenkins of Calvert City, Ky., Deborah and husband David Howard of Calvert City, Ky., 1 sister-in-law Kala and husband Terry Doane of Anton, Co. 1 brother-in-law Wayne and wife Belinda Kuntz of Enterprise, Oregon. 21 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. 7 step-grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D.W. and Dorothy Story.
Memorial/Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Vaughn’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 2’oclock. Inurnment will follow the service in the Fooks Cemetery.
