Domestic disturbance call results in arrest of Benton man on multiple charges including assault of a police officer

cuffsBENTON – A domestic disturbance call on Friday led to the arrest of a Benton man on numerous charges including assault on a police officer.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies Steven Oakley and William Strader were dispatched to Oscar Brown Ln in reference to a possible domestic dispute. Upon arrival deputies learned that someone had come to the residence to drop off a child and the caller, 22 year old Andrew K. Salcedo, came out of the house demanding that the person leave the property.

Deputies reported that Salcedo had been drinking and was told to go back into the house. Salcedo became very disruptive and refused to comply with their request. At that point Salcedo was advised he was under arrest. Deputies attempted to handcuff Salcedo when he began resisting and jerked away from the handcuffs, causing minor injuries to both deputies.

Salcedo was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place and Assault 3rd Degree on a Police Officer.
