Aleen Oliver Ashley, 79, formerly of Marshall County, KY passed away at 10:08AM, Friday, July 17, 2015 at Heart of Georgia Hospice Center in Perry, Georgia.
She was a member of Kuttawa First Baptist Church. She taught school in Shepherdsville, Kentucky and Hopkinsville, Kentucky. After her retirement she drove trucks with her late husband Floyd Ashley.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Ashley of Kuttawa, KY and Tammy Brown and her husband Jason of Warner Robins, GA; two sons, Sam Ashley and his wife Donna of Symsonia, KY and Guy Ashley and his wife Toy of Cuba, KY; eight grandchildren, Ashley Bittel, Amy Goodwin, Patrick Veigl, Mark Ashley, Randi Ashley, Daniel Womble, Brandon Womble and Rachel Oakley and three great grandchildren, Kobe Veigl, Norah Grace Goodwin and Alice Bittel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Floyd Ashley, one brother, Dorris Oliver, one sister, Carolyn Cannon and two sister-in-laws, Connie Cornman and Vesta Cotton. Her parents were Samuel Matthew Oliver and Beulah Woods Oliver Faughn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Kuttawa First Baptist Church. Bro. Phil Bryant and Bro. Carl Nelson will officiate and burial will follow in the Hurricane Church Cemetery in Cadiz, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 5:00PM Monday, July 20, 2015 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
