Mr. Jimmy Ford Bowlin, age 82 of Benton, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY.
Born Monday, July 3, 1933 in Marshall County, KY, he was a retired Iron Worker and was a member of the Marshall County Elks Lodge No. 2707 in Benton, KY. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.
He leaves behind one special step-granddaughter, Carrie Stenzinger of Seneca, SC, three nephews, Johnny Bowlin of Benton, KY, Jerry Bowlin of Benton, KY and Bruce Bowlin of Benton, KY, also several great nephews and nieces.
Also surviving are three step-children, Doris Timmons of Gilbertsville, KY, Jonda Stenzinger of Salem, SC and Bill Wood of Benton, KY, six step-grandchildren, eleven step-great grandchildren and five step-great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death his parents, the late Duck Bowlin and the late Ruth (Ford) Bowlin, his wife the late Velena Gertrude (McGregor) Bowlin, two brothers, Bob Bowlin, Joe Bill Bowlin, one sister, Mary Lou Bowlin and one nephew, Jackie Lee Bowlin.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Bro. Joel Frizzell will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Ford Cemetery, Benton, KY. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2015, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
