Benton couple arrested after narcotics detectives respond to allegations of possible meth lab activity

drugarrestBENTON – A narcotics investigation has led to the arrest of a Benton couple after a search of their home revealed they had been manufacturing methamphetamine. According to police reports, detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the residence located at 5460 US Hwy 641 South in Benton where they found items consistent with the manufacture of  meth including coffee filters, camping fuel, paint thinner, salt, drain opener, methamphetamine generator bottles, instant cold packs, tin foil and cut straws containing meth residue.
Detectives arrested and charged Chris Sharp with manufacturing methamphetamine 1st offense, possession of controlled substance 1st degree 2nd offense-meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Detectives also arrested and charged Sonia Sharp with manufacturing methamphetamine 1st offense, possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense-meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were lodged in the Marshall County Jail. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
