Raymond Edwin Lents, 87 of Gilbertsville, KY, formerly of Aurora, IL died on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at his home. He was retired from the Teamsters Local 710 working for Denver-Chicago, Time-DC, and Consolidated Freighways truck lines. After retiring, he worked for several years at Shawnee Bay Resort. He honorably served his country in the Army Merchant Marines.
He is survived by his wife whom he married on July 6, 1946 in Aurora, Illinois, Lillian Pat (Grabow) Lents of Gilbertsville, KY; children, Allen J. Lents and Ruby Wilson of Aurora, IL, Brian L. Lents of Gilbertsville, KY, Dan C. Lents of Gilbertsville, KY, Kathleen A. Miller, husband Steve of North Aurora, IL; grandchildren, Jay A. Lents of Montgomery, IL, Sara A. Gonzalez, husband Marcus of San Antonio, TX; great grandchildren, Bryce, Jaxson, Ashley, Ethan, Mateo, and Jay; sister, Louise Quigley of Aurora, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Javie W. Lents and Goldie M. (Clements) Lents Schingoethe; grandson, Christopher R. Lents, and sisters, Doris J. Lents and Dorothy M. Lents.
Graveside Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Aurora, IL.
Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY will be handling arrangements.
